Qt-Based Multimedia Player
qmmp (Qt-based MultiMedia Player) is a free and open source cross-platform audio-player that is similar to Winamp. It is written in C++ using the Qt widget toolkit for the user interface. It officially supports the operating systems Linux, FreeBSD and Microsoft Windows.
It also offers alternative user interfaces and a range of features including support for a wide array of audio formats, chiptune formats, tracker formats and more. Moreover, the application offers a number of plugins which extend its functionality.
Qt-based Multimedia Player is a lightweight media player that has a minimal UI and takes fewer system resources than other applications. It can be installed on most of the popular desktop environments, and is available for download for many Linux distributions through the standard package repositories.
The application includes projectM visualization and spectrum analyzer, MP3, Vorbis, AAC, AAC streams support, automatic charset detection for cue files and ShoutCast metadata. It is also able to play multiple files simultaneously and is compatible with XMMS and Winamp 2.x skins.
Other features include external programs execution on track change, BS2B effect, sample rate conversion, LADSPA effects, extra stereo and crossfade. It is capable of playing native FLAC, Ogg FLAC and Ogg Opus files.
It also comes with a number of additional features such as a YouTube search plugin, YM music module input, AdPlug input, ZXTune plugin and modern Winamp skins. It can be used with the KDE, Xfce and GNOME desktop environments.
